Anti-Bullying

NYPCC Anti-Bullying Fairs

Bullying is a multifaceted issue that poses a threat to one’s emotional, physical, and mental well-being. NYPCC has been a pioneer in addressing bullying, establishing the first anti-bullying coalition (ABC) in the Bronx in 2018 to create awareness of the signs of bullying, help children and parents learn strategies to address the problem and connect families with support resources. NYPCC’s Anti-Bullying Coalition acknowledges bullying as a nationwide crisis, and by partnering with community-based organizations, our mission is to stop bullying, empower, and educate communities so that we can impart social change against the bullying epidemic. The Anti-Bullying Coalition is a collective effort that seeks to create safe havens for children across New York City. New York Psychotherapy and Counseling Center ( NYPCC) partners with the following organizations in this effort:
  • Bronx Legal Services NYC
  • Court Innovations
  • Guns Down Life Up
  • Housing Works
  • Lincoln Hospital
  • NYC Office of Neighborhood Safety (ONS)
  • PS. 5 Port Morris
  • Youth Advocacy Corps

The Coalition identifies and implements ongoing preventive measures against bullying by providing trainings to engage and empower communities against bullying; providing trainings to engage schools and youth organizations as well as local businesses; providing a forum for parents about prevention and intervention; and supporting parents and their young children who are directly affected by the experience.

This year we are planning more exciting events than ever before: Youth Listening Tours, representation at the World Anti-Bullying Forum in South Carolina, 2 Anti-Bullying Fairs, publishing professional articles in collaboration with the Coalition, a pending Gang Prevention Symposium, and more!
