New York Psychotherapy and Counseling Center (NYPCC) is a non-profit, community-oriented mental health organization, licensed by the New York State Office of Mental Health. We provide exceptional services to children, adolescents and adults throughout the NYC area.

NYPCC believes everyone deserves access to the best mental health care, and we translate that belief into action every day. From hiring bilingual, multicultural staff who live in the neighborhoods we serve, to staying open 7 days a week, to our ongoing community outreach efforts, we are committed to improving the quality of mental healthcare services throughout the NYC area.

One Mission For Over 4 Decades

We opened our doors to the community in 1974. Since then a lot has changed in the communities we serve, but our commitment to them has not. NYPCC started out with one small community clinic in Queens where we treated less than 100 individuals. Today our reach and range of services have grown significantly. We now have a network of locations in the Bronx, Brooklyn and Queens, serving more than 25,000 people a year.

Ensuring Excellence In Everything We Do

NYPCC is always looking for new and innovative ways to educate and care for our communities. We utilize the latest evidence-based practices and are engaged in ongoing community outreach efforts to make sure no one is left behind. We want everyone to be aware of and have access to the mental health services they need. We also provide care coordination to ensure clients have support in navigating everyday issues that can impact their long-term mental health—including housing, employment, educational opportunities and more.

Mission

To improve the lives of individuals living with behavioral and emotional challenges, and help them be more active and productive members of society, by providing exceptional mental health services in underserved communities.

Vision

Everyone, no matter their age, race, or socioeconomic status, is entitled to the best possible mental health treatment in a state-of-the-art environment, by well-trained, culturally sensitive mental health professionals.

Values

  • We are here to be present, listen, understand, support, and treat our community because we care about each individual’s well-being.
  • We fight stigma and educate people about mental health care to make it accessible for those who need help.
  • We will never stop seeking ways to help and care for our communities, provide the latest evidence-based practices, ensure excellence, and make sure no one is left behind.
  • Everyone is entitled to be treated with dignity and respect in a friendly, courteous manner.
